There is software that can try to do this automatically. So you can take your scanned Corvette file and give it to someone to convert to vector format. There's no intelligence to say "this row of adjacent black dots represents a line". ![]() it's just a bunch of dots, a big checkerboard covered with black and white pixels. literally a path that a pen plotter (or nowdays, laser cutter) can follow.Ī scanned file (whether it ends up as a TIF, JPG, GIF, or same embedded in a PDF) will create a dumb image. ![]() "Vector" means the drawing is defined as a bunch of line segments from here to there. This is commonly an (Autocad) DXF file, or a (CorelDraw) CDR file. ![]() The point is, that for normal cutting, any laser requires a VECTOR format drawing.
